Coaster Collection
Planning: After looking at Ideas on Pinterest I found a similar picture of coasters that stack into a burger. When not in use the coasters look like a burger by are usable for drinks when taken apart.
Process: I made each coaster individually and started with a thin slab. I found a circle lid to cut out each coaster to be the same size. I then made individual details for each coaster. I used certain tools to add details like the layers in the onions, individual seeds in the bun, holes in the cheese, and carved out parts of the tomato. I then glazed each coaster. I glazed with different shades for certain coasters such as the tomato and the onion. The glazing really pulled each coaster together well.
Glazes: Underglazes of pretty much every color, mixed with whites or darker shades to accommodate for details.

Plate Set Final!
Planning: I decided I want to make a plate set based on where I am from for the final. I knew that my mom would also be really excited if I came home with a bunch of British colored pieces so I decided to make my theme British.
Process: I really enjoyed making this assignment. I started with the plate and knife fork and spoon. I made a simple Plate where details would be made on glazing. When I glazed the plate I painted the British flag on a white base. The Fork Knife and Spoon were all a little bit smaller then I would have liked. I hand made the three pieces and just went of pictures for the right look. This was probably the most difficult part of the project for me because I wanted them to be a little bit usable. I then decided I wanted to try and throw the cup on the wheel. After a few tries I was finally able to throw a small cup and I then trimmed the cup. A frustrating part of this project was when someone decided to try and steal my cup!! I found the cup already glazed the day after it came out of the kiln. I washed the glaze off multiple times to make sure it would not bleed through as I had a white base on the cup. I glazed the cup white and then added red and white and blue polka dots over the cup. I also used a paintbrush and flicked glazes on to create a cool design. Finally I made a little piece to go on my plate as the "meal". I made a piece of toast with beans on it to go on the plate. I textured the toast with a sponge to try and create a burnt look I also glazed the toast brown with a darker brown on the edges of the bread. I glazed each bean a mix of brown and orange. I enjoyed making this set as my final project with a theme that I specifically connect to.

Mustache Mask
Process: With little time left in the year I was worried if I started a new greenware piece I would not finish it. I talked to Miss Thompson and found a piece on the shelf that had not been claimed for a few months that had already been fired once. I found a beautiful mask and painted a base grey. I added darker grey lines over the mask to try and give the effect of a stone wall. I was going to try and glaze some vines overt he "wall" and drew them on before glazing. After drawing them on with pencil I decided to instead color each vine a different color. The vines almost look like wires over the face. I wasn't sure what look I was going for on the mask but I like how it came out. I'm happy I got to take a piece that did not have a home and put my ideas into it!
